news and notes because i have nothing monumental to write:
-- Against what I thought would be my better judgment, I went and saw Fantastic Four. (Quick sidenote to this: Sitting there during THE TWENTY!, I see these big white objects shining at me and Tris at the entrance. Then I see this black dude come walking towards us and I hear the famous cadence of Zaire Dawkins just laughing: "Nick! Tris! Whats goin on?" He was with his kid and sat with us. It was like a goofy date. This is only funny to probably Kevin or Dennis, though.)
OK, the movie. Being a strictly X-Men (Force, Factor, Calibur) reader growing up, and thinking F4 were lame, I'm amazed by the fact-- walking out--I was seriously considering it only behind Batman Begins and both X-Men in the comic book adaptations list. This is coming from someone who didn't read F4, and can't tell how bad they fucked up Dr. Doom, or anyone else for that matter. I thought it was fun to look at and well-paced (except for the end), and the origins sequence was hot. I don't know if this is a comment on how much I might not like Spider-Man without Venom or Carnage so far, or just how superior X-Men (and Batman Begins at least) are. But then again I'm not a SCREENPLAY writer.
And really does it matter? I saw the poster for X3 leaving the theater, and realized this is all moot, because its going to blow everything we've seen out of the water-- even if Kelsey Grammer is playing an un-CGI'ed Beast....which seems like a catch 22 on the face of it.

What I need right now and have only abstractly.
-) STILL haven't received a new debit/atm card, with my old one somewhere in the Red Stallion, and I'm down to my last 8 bucks.
+) Awarded 16K for school, making it somewhere in the 30K which I'll owe (this isn't + totally), starting a year from now. EXCEPT....
I don't know if i ever mentioned it on here, but I actually did win that scholarship: "The Class of 1922 memorial scholarship" or something, given (arbitrarily) to the "best" 2 in the major or something. Whatever... I just pocketed 1K .
-- Oh yeah "White Chicks" isn't actually THAT bad of a movie. The slapping dild scene is worth it.
-- The thunder sounds awesome.
-- Choxing wrapped in x-mas lighting wed. night. While Tris sang peter gabriel over and over. Me paranoid and accusing, drinking Old Crow..and i'm never drinking that shitty whiskey again. I'm sorry.
-- We basically called everyone under the sun this weekend (cough mark, katie, john cough) to little avail.
-- Kerri, I'm offering 50 dollars for the Vonnegut pin and thats my final offer.
I feel strange not working or having papers to write. Its also weird to think that the next time I really do work fulltime will probably be the start of my "career". I also realize right now why I don't write at night. I don't like it. I guess I'm saying I'm available to hang out after 7 every night, to whoever is left in town (or out), till late august. Because now I spend my days writing and practicing music, and the nights are sort of nothing. You know how to get in contact. Whatever. Fuck it.
